EGIKE Micromobilities (“EGIKE,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is an Egyptian micro-mobility company that designs, manufactures, and sells smart electric bicycles, and provides vehicle sharing and rental services through our technology platform. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.
This Privacy Policy describes what personal and sensitive user data we collect through our Services, how we collect it, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how we protect it, how long we keep it, and what rights and choices you have. It applies to all interactions with EGIKE, including through:
- The EGIKE mobile application (available on Google Play and the Apple App Store)

- Our e-commerce store and online ordering system
- Our e-bike sharing and rental services
- Customer support channels (email, phone, WhatsApp, and social media)

By creating an account, downloading the EGIKE app, making a purchase, or otherwise using any of our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described herein. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal and sensitive user data:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account, place an order, contact us, or otherwise interact with our Services, you may provide:
- Account and identity information: full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, username, and password.
- Payment and financial information: credit/debit card details, mobile wallet information, billing address, and transaction history. We do not store full card numbers; payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant third-party providers.
- Shipping and delivery information: shipping address, delivery instructions, and recipient details.
- Identity verification: government-issued ID (such as a national ID card or passport), when required for rental service verification.
- Profile information: profile photo (if uploaded) and communication preferences.
- Support and communications: the content of messages you send us via email, phone, WhatsApp, social media, or in-app support, including attachments.
- Newsletter subscription: email address provided when you subscribe.
- User-generated content: product reviews, testimonials, ratings, and feedback.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use our app, website, or e-bikes, the following information is collected automatically:
- Location data (GPS): real-time precise location during active rentals, ride routes and history, and general location for finding nearby bikes. Our e-bikes contain GPS hardware that transmits location data independently of your device.
- Device information: device type and model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (including Android Advertising ID and Apple IDFA, where permitted), screen resolution, and language settings.
- App usage data: session times and duration, features accessed, screens viewed, in-app actions, and crash reports.
- Website usage data: pages visited, click patterns, referral URLs, time on page, and browser type.
- Log and network data: IP address, access timestamps, connection type (Wi-Fi or mobile data), and error logs.
- E-bike telemetry: battery charge level and health, motor status and diagnostics, lock/unlock events, speed data, and overall vehicle condition.
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies, persistent cookies, web beacons, pixels, and local storage on our website and app (see Section 5 for details).
1.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from external sources:
- Payment processors: transaction confirmations, fraud screening results, and chargeback data.

2. How We Collect Your Data

- Direct input: when you fill in registration forms, place orders, submit support requests, or provide information during rental onboarding in our app or website.
- Automated collection: through cookies, SDKs, APIs, and embedded tracking technologies in our app, website, and e-bike hardware. GPS and telemetry data is collected via onboard hardware modules in each e-bike.
- Third-party SDKs and services: our app integrates third-party software development kits (SDKs) for analytics, crash reporting, payment processing, mapping, and push notifications. These SDKs may collect data on our behalf (see Section 6 for details).
- Device permissions: when you grant the app permission to access your device’s location, camera, notifications, or storage. You can manage these permissions in your device settings at any time.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
3.1 Providing and Operating Our Services
- Processing e-bike purchases, pre-orders, and deliveries through our e-commerce store
- Creating and managing your user account
- Authenticating your identity for account access and rental services
- Enabling e-bike rentals: locating nearby bikes, unlocking, ride tracking, and billing
- Tracking e-bike locations for fleet management, theft prevention, and recovery
- Enforcing service zone boundaries, geofencing, and parking rules
- Processing payments and issuing receipts
- Providing customer support, handling complaints, and resolving disputes
3.2 Improving and Developing Our Services
- Analyzing usage patterns and ride data to improve app functionality and user experience
- Conducting research and development for new features, vehicle models, and services
- Monitoring e-bike performance, safety, and maintenance needs through telemetry data
- Generating aggregated, anonymized data for service optimization and urban mobility planning
- Debugging, testing, and resolving technical issues
3.3 Communications
- Sending transactional messages: order confirmations, shipping updates, ride receipts, payment notifications, and account alerts
- Sending marketing communications: newsletters, product launches, promotions, and special offers (only with your consent, where required by law)

4. GPS, Location, and Telemetry Data
Location and telemetry data are essential to the operation of our Services. We want to be fully transparent about how this data works:
4.1 What We Collect
- Precise GPS location from your mobile device (when you grant location permission)
- Precise GPS location from onboard hardware in each e-bike (operates independently of your device)
- Ride route data, including start point, end point, distance, and path
- E-bike telemetry: battery level, motor status, speed, lock/unlock state, and hardware diagnostics
4.2 When We Collect It
- Continuously during an active rental session
- Periodically when e-bikes are idle (for fleet management and recovery)
- When you open the app to browse available bikes nearby (device location only)
4.3 How We Use It
- Showing available e-bikes near you
- Real-time ride tracking and service zone enforcement
- Recovery of lost, stolen, or improperly parked e-bikes
- Geofencing and speed zone enforcement
- Fleet maintenance scheduling based on telemetry data
- Generating anonymized, aggregated data for urban planning and service improvement
4.4 Your Choices
You can disable location services on your device at any time through your device settings. However, disabling location will prevent you from using the rental and bike-finding features of the app. Note that GPS and telemetry data from e-bike onboard hardware is collected independently of your device permissions and cannot be disabled, as it is necessary for fleet operations and vehicle safety.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website (egike.com) and app use the following technologies:
5.1 Types of Cookies and Technologies
- Essential/Strictly Necessary: required for core functionality such as login sessions, shopping cart, checkout, and security. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
- Analytics: help us understand how visitors use our website and app, including page views, session duration, and feature usage. We use services such as Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics.
- Marketing/Advertising: used to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and deliver relevant content. These may track your activity across websites.
- Functional: remember your preferences, language settings, and personalization choices.
5.2 Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings or device settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent certain features from working, including the checkout process on our website. For our mobile app, you can manage tracking permissions through your device’s privacy settings (e.g., iOS App Tracking Transparency or Android ad settings).
6. Third-Party Services and SDKs
Our app and website integrate third-party services and software development kits (SDKs) to provide core functionality. These third parties may collect data on our behalf or for their own purposes, subject to their own privacy policies.
We require that all third parties with whom we share user data provide the same or equivalent level of data protection as described in this Privacy Policy. Below are the categories of third-party services we use:

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our website before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
7.5 With Your Consent

7.6 Aggregated and Anonymized Data

9.1 Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to delete your account and request deletion of your personal data at any time. You can do this by:
- Using the account deletion feature within the EGIKE app (Settings > Account > Delete Account)
- Contacting us via email at support@egike.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”
Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for tax compliance). We will confirm the completion of your deletion request via email.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal data, subject to applicable laws:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal data (see Section 9.1).

11. User Consent
We obtain your consent for the collection and use of personal data in the following ways:
- When you create an account in the EGIKE app, you are presented with this Privacy Policy and asked to confirm that you have read and agree to it before completing registration.
- Before accessing your device’s location, camera, or other sensitive permissions, the app will display a clear permission request explaining why access is needed. You must provide affirmative consent (opt-in) before any such data is collected.
- For marketing communications, you will be asked to opt in before receiving promotional emails or push notifications.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your app settings, device permissions, or contacting us directly.
We will not collect personal data before obtaining the required consent. If you decline to provide consent for certain data types, some features of the Service may not be available to you.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or minors. EGIKE is headquartered in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Your personal information may be processed and stored in Egypt or transferred to countries where our service providers (such as cloud hosting and analytics providers) operate.
